Digital photography has opened up new outlets of creative possibilities to use and display our photographs. We can not only create heirloom albums and large canvas wall prints but we can also use those digital files to create unique, fun gifts and home decor items while showcasing our family memories. Here are 5 ideas to get your creative juices flowing. For most of these projects, I used items that I found in my home or in my backyard to create meaningful and memorable photo-gifts.
1. Photo Garland
Garland is a simple and fun way to add a whimsical touch to your holiday decor. This version of garland is made up of recycled fallen branches and strung together for a rustic, and natural feel. This garland can be personalized by adding photographs, names, messages or mini-drawings. Each family member can make their own branch tile and string them together for a new family tradition.
2. The Photo Cube.
Family photos are not just for albums anymore. These trendy photo cubes are a fun way to display multiple photos. With six sides, the creative possibilities are endless. I had my kids paint and decorate 3 sides of the cube and on the other 3 sides are the photographs. Perfect gift for grandparents!
Photo Ornaments can be ordered through any catalog or retail outlet, but these recycled, natural branch ornaments really give a hand crafted feel. These ornaments are made from fallen branches that are painted and personalized on one side and a photograph is adhered to the second side. A small hole is drilled through the top and hung with ribbon.

Protect your tabletops in style with these nature inspired coasters. Another creative way to reuse something as simple as a tree branch and turn it into something memorable. (Coasters must be sealed with Minwax Polyacrylic or another waterproof sealant).
5. Photo Frames.
Classic wooden frames are easily personalized by even the youngest artists. They really make a statement when clustered together for unique wall display.
